Kirby Meehan

Born and raised in rural Western Australia, our one television channel played almost non-stop cricket or AFL all weekend, every weekend. My childhood memories of cricket include Kim Hughes’ tears, Geoff Lawson, Allan Border and the young Steve Waugh – still one of my favourite players today. Now living in the UK, and married to an Englishman, Ashes defeats have infused me with a new patriotism and I feel the need to write about my team. I blog at “Thoughts from the Dustbin” and tweet @dustbincricket
